Film on the life of the Atlantic salmon

The Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre presents a 20-minute-long film on the life cycle of the Atlantic salmon. The film is shown on a giant screen (video 9:16 format) in the film auditorium every 30 minutes, with commentaries in Norwegian, English, German, French and Japanese. The film may be seen as an introduction to the exhibitions - or as a suitable rounding-off of the visit to the centre.

Old films on salmon fishing in the Lærdal river

In the video room you can see three old films on game fishing in the Lærdal river. The first is a silent film showing Mr and Mrs Lambert fishing in the river in 1920. This four-minute-long film is a rare historical document of the British golden era in the river. The second is an advertisement film from 1948, full of action, giving a lively description of game fishing (three-and-a-half minutes). The third is a charming colour film with many fantastic catch scenes from the river (12 ½ minutes)
